I am sure I am not the only one who has difficulty with “forgiveness”. After all what does forgiveness really means?

For a long time I thought “Forgiveness” meant not holding any residual feelings or grudges towards a person after an unpleasant interaction or incidence !

… but at the same time I struggled to understand how this can ever happen in reality.

Let’s say someone hurt you by doing something wrong (of course from your perspective). To understand this clearly we will take the best case scenario that they didn't do this intentionally. Your hurt was just the side product of their actions, which were done with respect to their best interests.

Doesn’t matter if they intended it or not.. you got hurt and now you have this new knowledge that if it comes to it.. if hurting you was serving them, they wouldn’t hesitate to do so.

With this new knowledge in your mind and experience ingrained in your brain can you ever return to the state of mind before that incident happened?
