In India, every kid recognizes companies like the Kingfisher, Blue Label, or Vimal. All of us, including me, have seen their star-studded Ads with Bollywood celebrities.
Until a few years ago, when I was in school, I even mimicked actions as a jolly way to remember an actor from the ad — .
I didn’t even know what the actual product was until I took that one random trip to the local store to find Tobacco packets with the same brand name — Vimal.
I was 14 years old and I was able to recognize a tobacco brand not because I frequently looked for tobacco packets (lmao I didn’t), but because I watched TV.
Advertisements for Tobacco and Alcohol Are Prohibited in India
For obvious reasons like my own case, advertisements for certain products like, sex toys, etc are banned in India.
