The Tree That Healed Me.
A quiet lesson in letting go and coming back
In my balcony stands a tall tree, full of leaves 🌿🍀. It’s not just a tree to me; it’s a friend. Whenever life feels hard or I feel like I can’t go on, I sit there and let the tree do its work. As the wind blows and the leaves fall, it kisses my face, and in those moments, I feel a gentle calm from the tree.
If you’re going through a tough time, remember—just like the tree, you’ll bloom again.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or like I’m not enough, I sit in its arms and listen to the unsaid words of the wind and the leaves. It’s always so peaceful there. I wrote a poem about that tree, you can read it here.
The tree is a peepal tree, and in its ritual, all the leaves shed in April, making way for new ones to grow. I once saw all its beautiful leaves fall, leaving it bare. I was scared, thinking that maybe the tree had reached its end. It reminded me of autumn, but I knew autumn comes in October and November. I became more anxious, unsure of what was happening.
After some research, I learned that this shedding was part of the peepal tree’s natural cycle. I was relieved to know that new leaves would grow after some time. I thought, “Thank God.”
