“What’s up, man? What are you doing in this class? You’re a freshman.” I stare at Jared, completely thrown. Honors Junior English? Yeah, something’s off.
Jared shrugs like this is no big deal.
“I’m an honor student. I guess this is the only class comparable to what I’m learning back home. Funny that we’re in the same class how ironic.” Chuckling at Calvin while sliding into the seat beside him. I’m baffled by the fact that Calvin is an honor student.
Jared catches my expression and smirks.
“Don’t look so stunned. Didn’t your mom ever teach you not to judge a book by its cover? Mine did.” Matching his tone, sarcasm is tossed right back. I know his first impression of me was I’m a stoner idiot that is ruining Hannah’s life.
“Of course she did. I’m just trying to figure out how you still have any brain cells left, with all the partying you do.” Not even looking at Calvin, I grab my three-ring binder and pencil from my backpack, setting them on my desk.
