Hey Apple, It’s Time to Make a Real Camera
Photographers, YouTubers, and everyone tired of clunky camera menus are waiting
If you regularly take photos or shoot videos — whether it’s for work, fun, or the sweet dopamine hit of a perfect Instagram post — have you ever wondered why your dedicated camera feels like it’s stuck in 2009, while your Apple gear is already racing into the future?
I’ve been in the photography game — and a loyal Apple user— for over a decade now. I started out shooting weddings, events and portraits, then gradually fell into the tiny world of toy photography. Along the way, I’ve danced with all the major camera brands: kicked things off with a Nikon D3300, moved up to a Canon 6D, then got fancy with a Sony A7III. Later I downsized to the cute-but-capable Fuji X-T30, and for the past two years I’ve been juggling love and frustration with my Canon RP.
I’m not mad at my current setup — huge sensor, dreamy lens, and image quality that usually holds up. But the second I need to quickly find a setting in the menu, or move a photo to my MacBook Air? Suddenly I’m wrestling with outdated setups, glitchy Wi-Fi, and software that looks like it was coded during the floppy disk era. Meanwhile, my iPhone 15 is just vibing in my pocket, ready to AirDrop a 48MP photo in three seconds like it’s nothing.
