Maybe You Don’t Need That Shiny New M4 MacBook Air

Apple has just announced the , and it’s tempting — faster, more efficient, packed with all the new 4th generation Apple Silicon magic. But if you’re like me, still rocking a good old , you might be wondering: do I actually need to upgrade, or is my machine still good enough for creative work ike professional photo editing, artistic AI tools, writing, content creation and the likes?

Before my current setup, until winter 2022, I was “rocking” a — let’s just say I don’t rush into upgrades. That one was painfully slow in the end, couldn’t handle anything, and I definitely felt the need to switch — I sent it and with Intel to hell more times than I can count. It wasn’t just slow to the point of being unresponsive, but it ran hot and the battery needed charging almost as often as my previous Windows machine. But just because something new comes out doesn’t mean I immediately feel the urge to get it — and even if I did, I also have to take into account the family’s needs, after all, money does not grow on trees, and nor do sausages for that matter — just in case you’re Eastern European.
