Of all the skills, strengths and characteristics we mentioned here on DYD there is one in particular, that if not mastered, will surely guarantee failure. And that is Stick-to-itiveness /ˌstikˈtoĶžoidivnəs/ which the dictionary defines as dogged perseverance, persistence, and tenacity.

But we define it as not the thing that gets you started but the thing that keeps you going until you get there. Because if you can’t stick to it…you’ll get STUCK.

INTERIOR: Success & Leadership Lab

Walter White: Jesse, what shall we use to conduct this beautiful episode with. What one particular element comes to mind.

Jesse Pinkman: Yo Mr. White, I don’t know…like I just listened to like 5 episodes of DYD yo, I got all these 5 pillars in my head.

Walter White: Jesse, focus.

Jesse Pinkman: Is it like hope and optimism or something?

Walter White: Are you guessing?? This is conjecture…and conjecture isn’t helping.

Jesse Pinkman: I know, is it conjecture…I don’t know.

Walter White: I said one element, that was two.

Jesse Pinkman: I mean, I mean don’t we like, double our chances, mathematically.

Walter White: No it’s just one, one important element…and it’s right in front of you

Jesse Pinkman: Alright, I give up. What is Mr. White, lay it on me.

*Walter’s phone rings

Walter White: Ahh shoot.

Jesse Pinkman: Who’s that Mr. White.

Walter White: It’s my wife!

Jesse Pinkman: That’s your ride or die.

Walter White: Give me one second. Skyler…

Skyler White: Hi honey.

Walter White: Hi dear.

Skyler White: Dinner’s almost done. I made your favorite: steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. Will you be home soon.

Walter White: Um, in a little while dear.

Skyler White: Oh, ok well is that soon or…? Walter White: Just a few things to wrap up here

Skyler White: So, soon?

Walter White: Well I mean…er

Skyler White: Or not soon?

Walter White: It’ll take some time.

Skyler White: Not soon, you’re saying? Walter White: Maybe late-tur

Skyler White: You’re saying late..or later.

Walter White: Yess

Skyler White: Or late-late.

Walter White: Late-late Skyler

Skyler White: I see.

Walter White: Not like last night. Not late, late-late.

Skyler White: So maybe another late night.

Walter White: I’ll be there as soon as I’m done, promise….just leave my food out for me when I get home.

Skyler White: Sure, no problem. Your dinner will be wrapped up waiting for you when you get back.

Walter White: Bye dear.

Skyler White: Bye…Walt.

*hangs up

Walter White: Ok Jesse, the element I’m talking about is stick-to-itiveness

Jesse Pinkman: Yo Mr. White I can’t even pronounce half the stuff they say on the podcast, let alone this skip to my loopineness

Walter White: It’s stick-to-itiveness Jesse, it’s something you must have, absolutely!!

Jesse Pinkman: Yo Mr. White, you mad passionate about this sticky-gooeyness.

Walter White: Because without it you will fail, without it you will start out strong, but then halfway through, just rollover and lay on the side of the road. Without it you have nothing!

Jesse Pinkman: I’m ready to learn this stick-to-itiveness Mr. White with the quickness. Hit me with it yo!

Walter White: Good, let’s begin

Jesse Pinkman: Yeah Mr. White, yeah science!!

šŸ§±šŸ”„ The Trait That Outworks Talent

ou ever met someone brilliant who never finished anything? Yeah — me too. That’s why we’re talking about the real secret to success: stick-to-itiveness. It’s not sexy. It’s not glamorous. It’s the thing that drags you to the gym when you’re running on fumes, low on sleep, and your motivation’s somewhere in a ditch on I-95. Talent starts the race. This trait finishes it.

šŸ§ šŸ’„ Mindset Over Mood

Motivation’s a fair-weather friend. It’s there for the win, gone by the next L. You need something deeper. A mission. A why that kicks in when your energy taps out. When setbacks hit — when you’re broke, stuck, or battling inner trash talk — you don’t need a miracle. You need stick-to-itiveness. The stubborn, unshakable decision to keep going anyway.

šŸŽÆšŸ’¼ Discipline = Opportunity Magnet

Stick-to-itiveness is what separates the dreamers from the doers. You want that promotion? That book deal? That six-figure client? You’ll earn it by showing up when it’s not easy. People who win in life reroute, they don’t camp at the detour. They solve problems nobody asked them to. They get noticed because they made themselves impossible to ignore.

✨ TOP 5: Things You Only Invented in your Head ✨

1. A self-making bed.

2. A self-heating, self-regulating bathtub.

3. A mini-robot that gives mani-pedis.

4. A sink that washes, dries, and puts away dishes.

5. A high-speed curling iron that nails every curl perfectly.

Notice a trend? We want help in the house! 😫

āš”ļøšŸ”„ Become Forged In Fire

Sometimes you need finesse. Other times? Fire. If you’re in a high-stakes game — sales, business, leadership — you’ll need to bring the heat. I’m talking calculated aggression. Tactical persistence. Be like Da Vinci sketching helicopters in 1487 — way ahead of your time, but too focused to care if anyone gets it yet.

šŸ›šŸ§˜ Solitude Is a Strategy

Mental clutter will rob your drive. You want clarity? Get quiet. Call it ā€œmanaged solitude.ā€ Some of my best ideas hit in the shower — because that’s when I stop doing and just think. Find your space. Make it sacred. Pep talk yourself back into action. Every high performer I know has one thing in common: they think on purpose.

šŸŽ™ļøšŸ“¬ Drop Your Thoughts. Stay in Motion

Stick-to-itiveness doesn’t mean going it alone. It means staying in motion, even when it’s messy. So if this hit home — or made you question where you’ve stopped short — drop your comment on Apple Podcasts and we’ll keep the convo going in the next episode.

šŸ’” Health Tip of the Day

Let’s Build Muscle. Be Stronger and Live Longer.

BUILDING MUSCLEšŸ’Ŗ

It’s no secret that a strong mind will get you through the roadblocks and obstacles we spoke about today so how about a strong body to match. Ok,I’m game.

Building muscle keeps you functional, strong and structurally sound…plus it looks great on you.

There a few basic rules to building muscle:

1. You are what you just ate. Protein supplementation is one of the most effect dietary strategies to augment your muscles response to resistance-type exercise training.

2. If you exercise first, you’re even more of what you ate…exercise right before eating makes your muscles more sensitive to protein signals.

3. If you’re inactive, you’re less of what you just ate….too much inactivity leads to a catabolic crisis of steady muscle mass until one day it falls off a cliff. So get active…remember the action habit. Do it now!

4. And progressive overload,I’ll make it real simple…don’t keep lifting those same light-ass weights. You’ve got to go heavier and keep challenging yourself and shocking your body to encourage growth.
