Member-only story
The most valuable thing I gave this week wasn’t my time.
It was my blood.
On May 8th, I became a first-time blood donor, right here at the office.
It was a small act ~ quick, painless, and over in minutes.
But what made it meaningful was the why behind it.
May 8th is both World Thalassaemia Day and World Red Cross Day, a powerful alignment that reminds us how important blood donation is.
•Thalassaemia is a serious blood disorder that requires ongoing transfusions, donations like ours are their lifeline.
•The Red Cross Movement stands for humanity in action, everyday people stepping up in extraordinary ways.
I didn’t expect a 15-minute donation to leave such a lasting impact.
But knowing that one pint of blood can save up to three lives, that changes your perspective.
This wasn’t just a personal milestone.
It was a reminder that real contribution doesn’t always look like big speeches or grand gestures.
Sometimes, it’s simply showing up, with a willing heart and rolled-up sleeves.
Grateful to have started this journey. Proud to have done it on a day that matters. And motivated to keep giving.
