What If Being Poor Was Never The Problem, But How You Show Up Is?

Let me ask you something.

Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you work, you’re still behind? Like people don’t take you seriously — at work, in your family, even among friends? You keep thinking if you just had more money, things would change.

I used to believe that too.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Being poor isn’t always the real problem.

How you show up might be.

When you grow up in survival mode, you absorb things. You learn to be careful. To not ask for too much. To be extra grateful when someone gives you a chance — even if you earned it.

You might not notice it, but the way you walk into rooms, the way you speak, the way you present yourself… it tells the world how to treat you. And if you show up like someone who’s already apologizing for existing, people usually treat you that way.

I’ve done it too. Lowered my tone. Over-explained. Let people cross boundaries because I didn’t want to seem difficult. And I thought it was just the lack of money that made life hard.
