The Biggest Myth About Success (and Why You Should Ignore It)

“Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.” — Kobe Bryant

Ever had that gut-punch feeling scrolling through LinkedIn?

You know what I mean — when you see that kid who graduated two years after you just landed their “dream job” at some fancy tech startup?

Yeah, me too. And I’m so tired of it.

And other day, my friend Mike was beating himself up because his small business hadn’t “taken off” after just six months — seriously, six months!

“Dude,” I told him, “you know how long it took my cousin to make her bakery work? Three years. And the first two were pure hell.”

That’s the stuff nobody posts about on Instagram.

Look, I’ve gotta get something off my chest. This whole “quick success” thing? It’s driving me nuts.

Here’s what actually happens when you chase success:

  • You mess up. A lot.
  • You feel like an idiot sometimes.
  • You eat a lot of humble pie.
  • You question everything.
  • You want to quit (like, every other Tuesday).
