The Algorithm of Medium
Still can’t figure it out
My journey as a Medium member started in November 2024. I heard about it from a friend of mine who knows I love to write. And when you get a chance to be paid as a writer it sounds very interesting. I started learning new things day by day. Read articles of others and sometimes it puts my confidence down whenever I read a masterpiece. But always try to encourage myself and the readers who appreciate my words get me motivated.
At first I wasn’t much interested in the earnings. Yes I always check the claps because It helps me find out who like my story most. As in my mind somewhere the point was that the more a person likes my writing the more he/she gave me claps. By the passage of time and by reading articles of writers that how they are earning in one week or month, I also start checking how is my growth rate as a writer. I find a weird thing in my story stats.
Two of my stories got same earnings despite one has 4 reads and 16 views and the other got 64 views and 22 reads. I am still wondering how the algorithm of Medium works. And just look at the story above over two of them which got 23 views and 6 reads and earn 0.09$. Isn’t it interesting and weird too.
Still waiting for my first payout. Let’s see when I can get that. Whatever happens, never mind the stats and earnings, I love writing and I will write untill I live.
