I Stopped Forcing Love and Started Loving Myself
I no longer force people to love me and treat me properly. I no longer force conversations.
I no longer force anyone to give me attention.
I no longer care for those who don’t appreciate me.
I’ve come to realize that my peace of mind is more important than anybody’s mistreatment.
I’ve learned to walk away from people who couldn’t see my worth.
I don’t want to be awake all night long, questioning my worth.
I chose to protect my peace of mind.
I chose to walk away from people who gave me reasons to feel worthless.
And for the first time in my entire life, I’ve learned to appreciate myself more after I walked away from toxic people.
I used to feel so unworthy of love, but now that I chose to put myself first, I’ve realized that I am not really hard to love— I was just settling for less than what I deserve.
