“I Post Every Wednesday” — The Lie That Keeps Me Consistent

You know those creators who have it all figured out? Posting on a king-size bed like consistency, building habits like monks, and always “on it”?

Yeah, I’m not one of them. 🥲
But I’ve figured out a hack: I lie!

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably noticed I post once a week. And I always say,
“I post every Wednesdays.”

Let me confess something.

The Real Reason Behind “Every Wednesday”

The Wednesday thing isn’t for you, it’s for me. It’s a system. A commitment device. A self-imposed constraint that helps me avoid slipping into creative paralysis or skipping the week entirely.

I know how my week usually goes: messy, overbooked, full of distractions. I’ll likely miss the actual Wednesday. But weirdly, this lie helps me still get the post done. Even if it’s Thursday night or even next Monday. Last time I posted 2 articles on Wednesday. I had missed one Wednesday.

That’s the power of identity. If you’re inconsistent, here’s something practical:

Build a sentence that becomes your personality.

For me, it’s:

“I post every Wednesdays.”

I put it in conversations, and even when I miss the mark, the mark still exists!

I don’t want to commit blasphemy, but let me borrow a powerful phrase from Shwetabh Gangwar:

Deadlines Are God

What he means is simple: don’t take deadlines lightly. It’s okay to genuinely not have time for something. Life happens. But if you’ve committed to a deadline, treat it as non-negotiable!

Him-eesh Madaan said this once, a long time ago. I don’t follow him much now, but I remember well, it was some Independence Day video. He said something like:

Be true to yourself -

What does it even mean, like when you commit to something. Be honest and Clear. When you are clear about small things, it bleeds into other, bigger parts of your life as well.

If someone calls you and you hit them with “Just 2 mins”. You know you are going to take maybe 5 minutes instead of 2. It might not affect the other person anyway, ’cause he knows that’s how the world works. Even 2-minute noodles (Maggi) take longer than 5 minutes.

Wait a minute, think, process and then commit to the time that will actually take you. If its 5, say 5. If its 10, Commit to 10. Be honest!

Become a Slave and be free! (Janhit mein jaari)

If you think you are a crastinator (that’s not a real word), or even above, a Pro-crastinator, you need to train yourself to become a slave.

A slave? Yes! Might sound pretty shaikhspearish, but reprogram yourself as one.

So, who are we becoming a slave to?
- Not your heart.
- Not your impulsive, dopamine-seeking brain.
But your calm, rational, logical self.

That voice inside you that already knows what’s right. That person you become in hindsight, after falling for the same trap again and again, saying, “I knew it.”

You did. You just ignored it!

Before you make your next decision, pause and ask:
Who are you listening to? Your heart, your mind, or your logic?

  • Your heart will romanticize the wrong person.
  • Your brain will fall into dopamine loops.
  • Your logical mind? It’s the one that sets boundaries, keeps you practical, and protects your peace.

Jaldi Ka Kaam Shaitan Ka Hota Hai (Haste Makes Waste)

You might not care what people think, but what you think of yourself really matters. Your confidence relies on it.

Keep making bad decisions, your brain will generalize it.

  • You are dumb,
  • You are stupid
  • You are not street smart.
  • You are a Procrastinator
  • You don’t take your work seriously
  • You are not true to your craft!

It's your Identity!! Be reliable!

When you keep skipping deadlines, your subconscious stops trusting you. And that affects.

  • How you show up in the world
  • How you sell yourself
  • How people perceive you

Gradually, others start to notice too. You become the person.

  • Who’s “unreliable”
  • One who’s “always late,”
  • One who “means well, but…”

Now, imagine being in a leadership position.
Would people respect someone like that?

Make commitments. Keep them. Or at least, lie well enough that the lie becomes true.

I post every Wednesday.
(And if I miss it, I still post.)

Because I said I would!
