Trump Wants to Reopen Alcatraz — You Should Be Asking Why
When Trump says “the worst of the worst,” he means whoever stands in his way.
In the latest episode of “What Year Is It?”, Donald Trump has announced plans to reopen Alcatraz.
Yes, that Alcatraz — the crumbling island prison once home to mobsters, escape attempts, and now, ironically, tourists with selfie sticks. According to Trump, it’s time to “bring it back” as a new home for “America’s most ruthless and violent offenders.”
This isn’t just a headline you scroll past.
This is the President of the United States threatening to reanimate one of America’s most infamous cages like its Frankenstein’s monster.
He calls it a place for “the worst of the worst.”
The subtext? Whoever he says it is.
This Isn’t About Crime — It’s About Theater
Alcatraz isn’t being revived because it works. It’s being revived because it plays well.
It’s dramatic.
It’s cinematic.
It looks great in a campaign ad, scored with ominous strings and slow-motion drone shots.
