Jeffrey’s Rocket
A bit of light verse I found in my notes from a couple of years ago.
I don’t mind if all the rich folks
Go up in Jeffrey’s rocket
And blast into outer space
I certainly understand the desire
To get the hell out of this place
But they are the ones who cause this world
To be all out of whack
So I don’t mind if all the rich folks

As long as they don’t come back
I was going through my “unfinished lyrics” folder when I found this little thing. I’m obviously never going to make it into a full-fledged song, so I decided to post it here. It reminds me of the humorous light verse that Ogden Nash used to do in the 1930s and 1940s.
