Do you think it is wrong to have children?

I recently discovered a new word, anti-natalism, it means having children is wrong.

I discovered this word while reading an article about the dark web, and it triggered a memory of a conversation I had with a friend of mine a few months ago.

We were discussing the state of the world, and he said if he had known how bad things were going to be, he would never have had any children.

Now before I continue, I am aware there are many people who, for many reasons, decide not to have children. Some people decide they would not make good parents. It is good they make this decision before having children than discovering they are bad parents when they have children. That way leads to misery.

Now back to my riveting conversation with my friend who said he would not have children because the parlous state of the world.

Now my friend and I are of similar ages and have children of roughly the same age. When I pointed out that if everybody, and I meant the whole world's population, decided to stop having children at the time he said he would, there would be no one under the age of 45.

I pointed out that the bar staff, all in their early 20s, would not be here.
