I am one of the enemies, according to Vice President JD Vance when he spoke to the a few years ago, where he quoted Richard Nixon as saying, “The professors are the enemy.”

Now the Trump Administration is making to the U.S. education system, many of which significantly affect colleges and universities.

President Trump believes that these changes are necessary because he has repeatedly referred to institutions of higher education as places of radical left .

Following this line of reasoning, many conservative are now trying to end or at least limit tenure for faculty, as one way to control the enemy.

Tenure is awarded to college or university faculty after meeting the requirements of a six-year probationary period and essentially gives them job security.
