5 Life Skills to Make the Most Of 2025
How these New Year resolutions will help me and you learn and grow
We are less than three weeks away from 2025. Can you believe it? To me, the start of 2024 feels like yesterday. But the new year is coming much quicker than I’d realized.
To start 2025 off well and make it the best year yet, I’ve picked five life skills I want to work on:
- Emotional control
- Communicating my needs
- Prioritization
- Expectation management
- Creative thinking
Why these skills and how will I work on them?
1. Emotional control
I’ve noticed not everyone supports the term “emotional control” — a buzzword that’s often misunderstood. Some might feel like their freedom is restricted when they focus on controlling their emotions. Yet, I regard it as a vital life skill since a lack of emotional control often kept me from living to the fullest.
Strong emotions regularly overwhelm me — making me unable to speak and act as I want. It’s as if the emotion takes over and decides for me instead of me choosing consciously how to behave.
