How stupid took over
Stupid used to be a phase. It was temporary. A bad haircut. A regrettable tattoo. Something you outgrew. Now, it’s a lifestyle. A movement. A god.
Stupid is the norm. It’s the standard. Many celebrate it because they’re stupid. Stupid supports stupid. They elect it. They give it TV shows, book deals, and a microphone. Stupid doesn’t hide in the shadows, ashamed and apologetic. No, stupid marches down Main Street with a bullhorn shouting out how proud they are of being stupid.
It used to be that when you said something idiotic, there was a price. A raised eyebrow. A withering glance. A swift correction. Now? Stupid doubles down, grabs a flag, and leads the way. It’s just stupid.
Stupid is loud, proud, and immune to facts. It shrugs at evidence. It sneers at expertise. It thinks knowing things is elitist, which is stupid.
And worst of all? Stupid is contagious. It spreads faster than a bad flu. One person says something ridiculous, and instead of being laughed out of the room, they find a crowd willing to nod along. Before you know it, the stupid festers. Spreads. Becomes law.
Stupid doesn’t solve problems. It creates them. Then it blames the people who try to fix them. It breaks things on purpose, then screams that they were broken all along. It turns…
