If Kylie Harking had a superpower — besides the ability to get carded for alcohol for the next thirty-plus years — it was probably her near-perfect taste in men. That is, she had the supernatural ability to find the nearly perfect man.

His last boyfriend was a carpenter with piercing blue eyes and abs like a small mountain chain. His body was flawless, hairline to toes, except for that tiny tattoo by his belly button. It was a swastika.

The boyfriend before that was this brown-haired businessman with dimples he could plant crops in. He was adorable, from the way he combed his hair to the way he always called his grandma to check up on her. The only non-adorable thing about him was the fact that “grandma” was the code name for his bookie, and he had to wear leg casts after the 2023 World Series.

And who could forget Kylie’s high school sweetheart, the ginger football player with the station wagon and the rich parents? He was the dream of every girl at Bullhead City High School, and as of last February, he was presumably the dream of every girl at Bullhead City Sanitarium.

Yes, Kylie always thought that her boyfriends were perfect, until reality knocked in the form of goose stepping, shattered…
