How To Handle Distracting Thoughts With Calories.
Feed the belly before the brain starts asking questions.
Are you troubled by anxious thoughts, stress, or just feeling blue?
Do I have a solution for you that no one talks about; calories.
The best medication I ever took trying to combat stupid levels of cortisol is a big block of smoked cheese. Just, press that in my face. I’ll chew it, sure, but just get it in there.
Another thing to try is eating two pizzas in one sitting while someone you know looks at you with a facial expression that says “I’m impressed with, angry at, and worried about you.”
Our brain likes to save energy, which means it doesn’t like doing a lot of things at the same time. So when it has some time over, it likes to ruminate.
But, if you give the brain — and your tastebuds — some food for thought, it will not have time.
Eventually, you’ll be horizontal on the sofa and have this revelation that maybe you just took a few years off of your life and now you have to worry about that. But later. First, you need to take a nap because you just consumed about 8000 calories instead of going to therapy.
Interesting point though; 8000 calories are cheaper than therapy.
