People Who Create To Stay Well
Good mental health is personal wealth
Reflecting on another creative week: Friday 21st February
Mental health matters
Ihave never made it a secret that I carve out creative time because it’s important for my mental health. In the same way I keep active and try to eat and sleep well for my physical health, I feed my creativity to support my overall well-being.
This led me to conversations with other creatives, and formed the basis of a series of blog posts that found their home on the website. This week I have been reflecting on the variety of artists who have generously given me their time.
was the first of these artists, someone I have known for a while and worked alongside in craft therapy sessions. I had also witnessed how bipolar impacted on his work output — when he is low he produces little or nothing, and when he is manic he is prolific to the point of physical and mental exhaustion.
