Reflections on a special day: Friday 28th February

This Friday’s column is something a little different. I have written you a poem dear readers… Because I did the same thing last year, and maybe it’s just become an annnual tradition — who knows!

Writing poetry is now part of who I am, it’s creative, therefore sits well within this column I have dedicated to creativity and its roots.

And… it’s my birthday today!

There she goes,
the one with diamonds in her soul.

This week I have devoted much of my time to proofing and editing articles, submitted for the quarterly I put together with a dedicated editorial team. It’s a beautiful gift to our community and I am so passionate about making it the best that it can be.

Mid-week, I also warmly welcomed my regular writing buddy and friend

back from her stateside trip to visit family and we enjoyed some creative writing time together — and a fair bit of good old banter too!

We obviously talked about it being my birthday, and so my ten minutes of freewriting found its focus on that. After…
