If Only Their Mothers Knew …
Behaviour most becoming
My neighbour has three Airbnb houses in our street, the most posh and largest, straight across the street from my home.
In the almost four years I have lived here, there has not been a problem with any guests, many from all over the world and all walks of life.
I’m the curious neighbour who hides behind the curtain spying on them!
Okay, that’s just a joke, but my work desk faces the window and I see them all come and go.
My friend charges a tidy sum for each overnight stay, and so she’s meticulous about cleaning after they have gone, but over the years she has realised that she can never anticipate how respective parties might behave.
Two weeks ago she had twenty people staying over the weekend. Most of them were were high-school musicians, the rest their teachers.
The home comfortably houses 12 people, so I imagine there were students in camp beds.
Maybe they assigned those to the teachers!
As a teacher myself, I wondered how that might go.
I’ve been on camps where our students have behaved very badly, but sharing a home with teachers would leave little to chance.
