This Life is Different
Poem about living with Chronic illness
2 ft of snow out the front door
I can’t turn my head to the right
Pain radiates down my side
Some days are harder than others
Yet I push forward
Big goals to accomplish
This life is difficult
It’s different
It felt impossible at first
They say god gives the difficult battles
To his strongest soldiers
Maybe that’s true even if it makes no sense
They say there is a lesson in everything
That every experience teaches us something
What have I learned from this?
How to slow down..
How to appreciate..
How to be humble..
I’ve learned that you can make a million plans
and the universe will still pull that rug out
From underneath you.
The trick is..
to dance in the air, spin 180’
and land in a whole new place
