May 2025 | Flash Fiction #5 | Photo Prompt
Anne had beautiful memories of her grandfather. He was the only one in the family who truly understood her. They were alike in their relentless pursuit of knowledge.
He had been a historian, specialising in Nordic history.

Scoresby Sund. The place he had circled in red ink years ago, yet never spoke of. Four years ago, he vanished. The doctors and fellow historians had begged him not to go.

“We’ll find each other in Valhalla,” read the note he left her.
Two days ago, a package arrived—his unfinished manuscript. No name, no return address.

There was only one way to find out.
She packed her compass, his maps, and the manuscript, and set off for Scoresby Sund.
