I did It in the Heart of the Forest
And I know the trees have been watching over me
I did it in the heart of the forest. But not just any forest, since it is the forest of Fontainebleau, an important wooded area of 25,000 hectares located an hour’s drive from my home and known throughout the world. In its center is the city of the same name, just as famous for housing , mainly Renaissance and Classical in style.
For months the questions had been multiplying in my head. To do it or not to do it? To wait a little longer? Okay, but why? And how long? What if it went wrong? What if the spell fell on me, as it did for some people? And then, is it really worth it? Will I really be protected?
What about all the talk about how we don’t have enough perspective and that we are really guinea pigs? Who can I believe, when the opinions I get are absolutely contradictory, even among my family and close friends? Who should I trust? Will it make me feel better and less afraid?
11:42 am. I pass the door of the vaccination center installed in one of the gymnasiums of a huge sports complex in the middle of the forest. An agent asks me to hold out my hands and pours me a dab of hydroalcoholic gel. Welcome to the new world.
