Perhaps you’ve experienced this kind of emotional state. When you’re extremely happy and excited in the morning, and then in the afternoon you fall into a state of deep sadness and worry. This happened to me last Friday for a very specific reason. My house of cards collapsed in just two minutes with a simple phone call. My life could have changed in one fell swoop, the timing was perfect with the onset of spring, but unfortunately fate decided otherwise. That didn’t stop me from publishing my newsletter, a deadline I can’t miss because it does me so much good.

I’ve confided in some of you over the past few weeks, as I sometimes do when the occasion arises. On February 29, I sent in my application for a position as a literary agent at a very small publishing house, founded in 2021 and originally specializing in the publication of poetry collections. The offer stated that it was an internship (and therefore intended for students), but that it would be a full-time position after the internship. So I took a chance, thinking that my experience with Scribe would be a good fit for the job description. I’ve translated it for you:
