Comfort Zone — The Silent Enemy of Our Life

The safest thing is to stay where we are, not to move, because if we move, we might sink. Especially if we think we are in quicksand. Standing still seems secure. We whisper to ourselves: Stay where you are. Don’t take risks.

That quiet voice belongs to our silent enemy, the comfort zone. That voice is not evil toward us, but it whispers darkly in our ear not to make waves, lower our gaze, or disturb ourselves or others.

That voice is a gentle lullaby keeping us chained to the ground. Even though it doesn’t seem dangerous, because it “means well,” it lulls us to sleep while life passes us by.

What is the comfort zone?

It’s that mental and physical space where everything is familiar: work, routines, people, and daily habits.
Our little cosy life where we feel comfortable.

But comfort, in this case, always comes without growth. Or, to paraphrase Dr. Wayne Dyer: The comfort zone will silence the music inside us.

Why do we stay inside it?

Because we feel safe that way, our mind loves the familiar and avoids anything that…
