The Bipartisan Lie: When Both Parties Agree, It’s Usually Against You
Bipartisanship is a lie. But it’s not a harmless one — it’s the mask they wear while looting the country.
We’re told that bipartisanship is the cure. That if politicians could just come together, America would be better off. But the truth is, they already do — just not in ways that help you.
The Bipartisanship No One Talks About
Most Americans believe in, support, or flat-out demand term limits for Congress. The people want that — on both sides of the aisle. And yet… nothing.
No serious vote. No movement. Just silence.
Congress — a body of people elected by the people to serve the people — is incredibly bipartisan when it comes to defying the will of the people. On this, Republicans and Democrats have no problem finding common ground. They may fight over budgets, hearings, or tweets — but when it comes to keeping their jobs for life? Suddenly, they’re one big happy family.
87% of Americans support congressional term limits, according to a 2022 Pew Research Center survey.
That’s not a partisan issue. That’s near-universal agreement.
And it’s not just term limits.
Most Americans overwhelmingly support getting lobbyists out of Washington. They want corporate money out of politics. They want to end the revolving door between Capitol Hill and K Street.
A Gallup poll shows 75% of Americans favor banning corporate PAC contributions entirely.
So, where’s the legislation?
Where’s the bold bipartisan reform?
Nowhere. Because real bipartisanship — the kind driven by public demand — threatens the system that keeps politicians wealthy and safe.
Where’s the Bipartisanship That Matters?
It doesn’t stop there.
When it comes to balancing the tax system — cutting through tens of thousands of pages of legal red tape — and implementing something fair and simple? Something that’s not rigged for billionaires and multinational corporations.
Most Americans support that. So, where’s the bipartisan work then?
Or how about immigration reform — a system that makes sense? Not one built on slogans or photo ops, but a modern, efficient, secure, and humane process that reflects sovereignty and common sense?
Most Americans want that too. So again, where’s the bipartisan work?
It’s a farce.
“Bipartisanship isn’t dead. It’s thriving — every time Congress needs to protect itself, enrich its donors, or sell out the public.”
The only time Congress moves quickly and in unison is when it’s:
- Expanding the surveillance state,
- Pouring billions into foreign conflicts,
- Raising the debt ceiling without cutting a dime, or
- Bailing out Wall Street when their risky bets blow up in their faces.
Example:
In April 2024, both parties quietly reauthorized FISA warrantless surveillance powers — despite strong public opposition and clear evidence of past abuse. The vote passed with 273 House members in favor. That’s bipartisanship in action — but for the wrong reasons.
They can’t agree to fix the border.
They can’t agree to simplify the tax code.
They can’t agree to term limits or campaign finance reform.
But hand them a blank check for Ukraine or Israel, and it’s full-speed ahead.
The Bipartisan Lie
This can’t continue forever.
Our politicians are so fat, so greedy, so bought that they’re dragging the country toward collapse. They’ll run it straight into the ground and do it with a smile and a soundbite. At some point, this system will snap. Maybe through drastic reform. Maybe through violence. But either way, it cannot hold as it stands.
The middle class has endured decades of failed policies and blatant unfairness. And somehow, many managed to earn a decent living, even as the gap between the rich and poor stretched to absurd, almost cartoonish proportions. But now? It feels like the pressure is building. Like the dam is cracking.
We’re $36 trillion in debt. The political talent pool in D.C. is so diluted that some people wouldn’t be qualified to teach high school government — yet they’re voting on trillion-dollar decisions.
The public sentiment? Fear and anger. And who feeds that?
The mainstream media.
They gorge on it.
They sell it.
They profit off it, like maggots feeding on a dying animal.
Our younger generations? Many have already checked out. They’ve lost all faith in their elders — and never had faith in the government to begin with. And honestly, can you blame them?
Washington hasn’t changed its playbook in 40 years:
- Bluster.
- Lie.
- Finger-point.
- Rinse. Repeat.
They cater to big business.
They take money from lobbyists and donors.
They ignore the people.
And then they blame “gridlock” or “partisan division” for why nothing gets done.
So What Now?
You don’t need to “vote harder.”
You don’t need another team jersey.
You need to pay attention to what both sides are doing when they agree.
Bipartisanship is not dead — but it’s been hijacked.
It now serves a specific purpose: protecting the elite while pacifying the public.
If we want real change, we must stop being distracted by the red vs. blue cage match and follow the money.
Stop cheering for your “side.”
Start watching the scoreboard.
Because the game is rigged, and you’re not supposed to win.
