Reminiscing About The Radio

I’ve always had a soft spot for radio. Not because it’s perfect, or always accurate, or even especially exciting. But because it feels like a companion — steady, human, unpretentious.

When I was growing up, my parents would always have BBC Radio 4 on. I can remember sitting at the table in the kitchen, doing my homework or eating my breakfast with that gentle hum on in the background.

Hearing ‘the pips’ will always soothe me.

That may be the least exciting clip I’ve ever posted…

But at most stages in my life so far, there has been a radio show (or shows) that I feel I can trust.
