This is a subject on which one cannot say anything without receiving hatred in return. Indeed, a number of people haven’t read even this far, already filled with anger at me for daring to touch on this issue.
Atheism is one of those concepts that many people think they understand but have never sufficiently thought through. There are also many people who very much want to pick a fight over this concept of atheism, although it is fair to say that the more anger there is behind the fight, the less introspection and knowledge there is from the fighter.
That’s also how politics is, and there is a very direct correlation between the pissing match between political parties and the pissing match between theists and atheists. In reality, those who attack and those who defend atheism are engaged in a political battle — a battle of two competing ideologies fixated on two dogmatic belief systems.
