About two hours ago, I woke up from a vivid dream and haven’t been able to fall back asleep. I even tried taking a shower 45 minutes ago, hoping it would help, but it didn’t. It’s as if the thoughts swirling in my head refused to wait until daybreak. They demanded to be written now.
In the dream, I visited a friend’s office — someone who also happened to be the boarding master of an all science school my former business used to supply.
Alone in the office after my friend stepped out , a female student walked in. She looked oddly familiar. But that couldn’t be, I thought — the girl looked far too young to be the classmate I remembered from over twenty years ago.
As we spoke, I casually mentioned I had attended the same science secondary school, though in a different location. Without hesitation, she responded that she had gone to that same school at the same time. That’s when it hit me.
This “student” was indeed my former classmate — still in secondary school more than two decades later.
