A Few Changes to the Partner Program Start in August 2024

Change is the only constant on Medium. I just received an email of a few changes that will be impacting the Partner Program in August.

These three changes will impact all writers.

Here is a breakdown of the changes.

1) Ending of the Referral Bonus Program

I don’t really understand the first change because this already happened last year.

I clicked on the link in the email, and it says existing referral bonuses will continue to be honored indefinitely. I do still get paid $2.01 each month for a referral bonus.

I'm not really sure if that will continue or not. I better adjust my budget, just in case!

2) Expansion of Boost Nomination Program to More Publications

Oh great, does this mean we will continue to make less money due to the crazy amount of money boosts can earn on Medium?

If so, Medium might not be worth using if we only hope to make money here by writing for a boost. I’ve never been boosted, but I understand because nearly all of my articles are short.
