My Newsletter Failed 3 Times Before This Happened
How I finally succeeded after 3 complete failures and discovered what actually works
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if your newsletter’s dead in the water right now, good. You’re exactly where you need to be.
I’ve launched (and crashed) three newsletters before I figured out what actually works. Not what those “million-dollar creators” say. Not what some thread boy on Twitter spits out with ChatGPT.
Real stuff. From my couch. At 1 am. While eating leftover biryani.
Here’s what I learned after falling on my face multiple times, and what I wish someone had told me before I wasted months staring at open rates like they were mood rings.
1. The Newsletter Isn’t the Product. You Are.
I thought I was being smart.
I picked a niche. Wrote some clean tips. Set up a decent welcome email.
And then… silence. 13 subscribers. One was my mom. One was me.
Here’s the truth: nobody wants “tips.” They want you. They want the way you see the world. They want your weird metaphors. Your unfiltered rants. Your “this is gonna sound dumb but” moments.
