Thoughts And Reflections On The #100StoryChallenge

Upon seeing post her first story for the #100StoryChallenge, which started, I was immediately intrigued by the concept. Jillian also used cool AI artwork generated by Night Café Studio to go with her stories, which I started to do as well.
Before I heard of this challenge, I really wanted to make writing fiction online a regular habit for a long time — actually, I wanted to write fiction on Medium since 2019, but I didn’t. I was held back by so many doubts both relating to my entire self-worth and my actual abilities.
I didn’t feel good enough to write a novel in a year.
I didn’t even feel good enough to write seven-minute stories each week.
But even with these doubts, there was always a strong pull towards generating ideas for fictional stories, especially plots I wanted to see but didn’t see enough of out there. The problem was I had too many of them and couldn’t focus on one story for a long time. I just thought it was because I was a bad writer.
However, the challenge of writing 100 stories in 100 days was exactly what I needed to begin writing fiction regularly. Sure nobody outside of this platform would care about someone self-publishing 100 fictional…
