My Pandemic Story: An Unexpected Gift
A world’s devastation gave me clarity
Without the pandemic, I wouldn’t be sitting here right now on a Thursday morning writing.
In my old pre-pandemic life, I would be driving to work at this time and dropping off the kids at preschool with my husband.
I feel some personal guilt for admitting that without such a tragic moment in our history, I wouldn’t be sitting in this happier and more fulfilling spot today.
To understand how I got here, I need to go back to where it started.
A moment of shut-down
March 2020, most of us can pinpoint that moment in time.
I was nearing my 13th year in one of Fortune 100’s top companies and a marketing manager in our in-house agency. The best part of the day was the people I worked with, but I struggled to find that “balance” between career and motherhood.
When we were told to gather our laptops and business materials to work at home, it was confusing but strangely comforting that the four of us would be at home together.
