Has There Been Any Real Change This Women’s Day?
Every woman’s evolving relationship with self-acceptance needs a relook on this day.
Women’s day passes by each year, and I am left wondering if anything felt different than the last time. And the answer is, nothing at all. But yes, every year brings about some learnings — in life, at work, in understanding. And those are the things we should use to pivot beyond.
There have been some takeaways this year too, for me as a woman in today’s day and age. And I want to share them here.
Find Your Center
For the longest time, I was someone who was a tad bit rebellious. I was the first one in my family to move beyond our native cities to go study, work in a different part of the country. When I first moved to the city, I now call home, I knew no one here. Slowly, gradually and painstakingly I found some friends, then colleagues and finally started feeling at home. I have always been more of a drifter that ways. So, my center, spiritually and socially was neither in my hometown nor in the big city.
I felt that I did not fit in. When I was younger, I thought my center were my friends, then maybe my work, my books, sometimes my family and so on. As a woman, this feeling washes over you at times, as a form…
