A drabble is a piece of writing of exactly 100 words. A drabble a day is a daily prompt, offered by for over a year. Sadly, he has decided to stop, due to Medium’s dismissal of shorter stories.
So, while I have moved away from the drabble form, I’ve written one last triple drabble (300 words) story using Grim’s words, in a nod of appreciation and respect. The words are ‘creation’, ‘flag’ and ‘depart’, covering three days.

Monday lunchtime, Tennessee is in the lunch hall with Billie, Liv and Hana. They’re all eating cheese salad sandwiches, brought from home. It’s their Monday ‘thing’.
Sharing lunches feels like the creation of a gang, but safer than what they’ve heard. Tuesdays they have hot food from the canteen; it’s almost always chips. Big win!
Tennessee is positively thrumming with what’s happened over the last few days. She’s dying to tell Billie, her best friend. But can she trust Billie not to blab? She’s seen and heard her gossiping about…
