Some of my coffee stuff … trust me, I have more! The new drip coffee maker is on the right, next to the new espresso maker. On the far left is a French press and then the mint-green percolator I picked up in an antique shop. I know I have a problem. Photo by Michelle Teheux

Over the weekend, my husband and I were walking our two spoiled dogs when we got into a conversation with a neighbor, who showed us an old Revere Ware drip coffee maker she’d forgotten she had.

It’s extremely cool.

It’s even got a copper bottom. It’s not a percolator; you put fresh coffee grounds into it and then you pour in your boiling water to slowly drip through tiny holes. The coffee collects in the bottom part.

I’d never seen one like it, and told her if she ever wants to sell it, to ask me first.

Instead, she handed it to me with a big smile and a Merry Christmas. (I will be bringing her some homemade Christmas treats soon!)

My coffee-making collection is a little bit out of hand.

Ahem.

My husband and I just bought an espresso maker as our Christmas gift to each other. I also have two styles of antique coffee grinders and a modern one I’ve had for 20 years. (Does that still count as modern?) We have French presses. We have an antique percolator.
