There is nothing at all magic about drinking a lot of water. If there were, I would know, because I almost certainly drink far more than you do.

I am always thirsty.

The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a full glass of water. The last thing I do before I go to bed is drink a full glass of water. During the night, I will always get up to drink another glass of water (and pee.)

Actually, when I said nothing happened, I lied. One thing did happen: I began peeing much more.

Have you had your colonoscopy yet? (If you’re 45 or older, get on it.) If you have, you know they hand you a gallon jug of something called “prep” designed to clean you out. Most people find it difficult or impossible to get it all down.

When I had my colonoscopy, I was unfazed by the prep. I guzzled it down without incident. I would have drank about that much liquid anyway.

I’m not diabetic.

I’ll say this early, to save everyone the trouble of asking. I’ve talked to my doctor about this, and all the relevant tests have been done, and there’s no medical reason to explain why I’m always…
