Be Careful About Reading Too Much of My Writing!

You have to read other points of view, too

You want to develop a distorted worldview? Don’t read widely. Find a source you enjoy (like me, maybe?) and stick to it. Read nothing else.

Just kidding. Don’t do that.

I’ve long tried to define the best way for people to avoid being brainwashed by the media. Fitness influencers — of course! — offer the answer.

You know how they say you need a huge variety of foods to be healthy? Well, it’s the same for your media diet.

A steady intake of any one source is bad for you. Reading nothing but the New York Times is like living on kale, while watching only FOX is like eating frosting out of the can with a spoon. Only white frosting, of course.

If someone were to try to live on what I’ve written? Well, their intellect would starve. You need more. I may not have a niche, but I certainly have a particular worldview. You have to develop your own worldview from scratch, and it takes a lot of exposure to a lot of different ideas that you consider over time to form such a thing.
