Some days I wake up feeling like I am trapped in someone else’s nightmare. Not the dark, cinematic kind, but the quiet lingering type with you, in the grocery store while you try to remember your shopping list and, oh wait this music is triggering a feeling, a memory, brushing your teeth.

Not bang, bang bang but never leaving.

What I have experienced, what I have seen others experience, is not the only pain. It is isolating.

The worst part? The wrapper of normalcy.

I’m not writing this in search of your sympathy or pity. I’m sharing because some experiences are so heinous I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy.

But millions of us experience them. Silently. Alone. While the world looks on, scrolling, and going on.
