Your Article Triggered Me. It’s Your Fault I Feel Terrible.
A lesson in boundaries and personal responsibility. No, it’s not easy. But it’s important.
Early this morning I responded to a heartfelt set of comments from a reader who had a hard time with a description I gave of an animal in distress in South America. As someone who travels regularly, and most often to those parts of the world where animals, women and children are all typically and all-too-often lumped together in one role of dumb service to men, I can fully understand the reaction.
The writer, not without cause, expressed distress about what they had read, and told me that I should provide content warnings to Dear Reader.
First, NO. I will do no such thing.
