Does it seem like each year gets more poignant?
Sometimes I think it’s age. And others, the increased raising of collective awareness. Some people feel how interconnected we all are while others have never been more alone, whether literally or emotionally.
Reckoning and awakening share the same airwaves.
I am a Buddhist first generation Asian American, the daughter of immigrants. Every day of my life is lived experience in building equality for women and people of color.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, in the window right after the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, the legacy and tenor of Martin Luther King Jr and Gandhi still in our pulses.
Decades later, we still take the steps and make the leaps for full equality of gender, race, religion, identity, and abilities.
When I look at anyone or interact with anyone, I see and feel their souls; their energetic frequencies.
In Buddhism, the soul reincarnates across lifetimes, choosing different appearances and forms to best serve the highest dharma of each incarnation. In this way, one can choose to incarnate with different genders, skin color, abilities, across lifetimes. From this perspective, racism and discrimination of all kinds…
