Bad News lurks in our faces from the media, and it’s usually hot off the Press!

That brings me to another point. Why, oh why, does the media in all its forms persist in pouring over our heads a never-ending bleak story virtually every single minute of the day?
Of course, this practice has been prevalent for a good many years, if not centuries, but it's being taken to the nth degree during this pandemic.
Bad news sells! Can I now suggest that, in fact, all of this plethora of doom and gloom actually counteracts compliance with the rule restrictions?
- All of the negative reporting of Ministers not complying, including, of course, the non-compliance watershed of the Cummings affair, merely tips the balance when expecting the public to obey the rules likewise.
- The tittle-tattle continues unabated, even down to calling out Gary Lineker for momentarily not wearing a face mask when shopping.
- All the stories and there are many of them each week, of various raves, parties, and yet more drinks being had in the Houses of Parliament, just sickens…
