This poem was written in response to a friend’s meditation invitation: What is it like to live with a completely open heart?
For me, this brings up breathing through and holding with compassion the pain that is actually seeking to break us open and heal us.
The dance of the broken heart
wide open
unfiltered
open to Everything That Is
without barriers
to Self.
This open heart carries me
through the storm
weathering any uncertainty
until I arrive on your untainted shores
ready to see myself
anew.
