When National Condom Week coincided with my birthday in 1988, it was my final year of law school, the stage was set and Feferfest was born. Who could pass up a party theme like that? Not someone like me, that’s for sure.

And figuring out decorations was a snap. Condoms come in an amazing abundance of sizes and colors. I had no idea.

Thinking back, I could have become the original “Hawk Tuah” girl if cell phone cameras had existed when my friend handed me a lubricated one to inflate, that bitch, but I digress, as usual…

Over the past thirty-six years, my annual celebration of everything that’s wonderful about being me has been held in some strange places, with odd people, and hilarious results.

I’m taking a low-key approach this year because, frankly, it’s time I calmed the fuck down. To remind myself of that, here’s some highlights of parties past.
