When A Heart Takes Flight
A Meditation on Expectations
We all live in epochs in many diverse seasons of time
Often in the intense quiet, wordless in pantomime,
Stuck between the nexus of waking and our dreams,
Drifting from each moment, between silence and screams,
Too many wishes, held in subtle isolation, and expectations,
Each moment following the next, in intense deliberations,
Wisdom comes in fits and festival! Promise and Longing!
We struggle from isolation to a stronger sense of belonging!
Each nexus, each threshold, both exciting and distressing,
Every impulse that rushes through us is our undressing,
We can hardly hold onto the intense passage of time,
We get lost in the particulars of every reason and rhyme,
Anticipation, expectation, consternation and release,
In the midst of the controversy comes a nexus of peace!
A moment of sharing, and a threshold of discovery,
Then moments of decision find their moments of recovery!
