How One Workshop Taught Me the Meaning of Impact
Sitting over smoothie bowls in sunny Puerto Vallarta, Emily and I were giddily planning our next event. The month before, we had jointly hosted an herbalism and astrology workshop that not only sold out, but oversold. We had to squeeze in extra seats as people continued flooding through the yoga studio doors.
The high that we were left with propelled us into creating our next event, a workshop focused on the astrological moon sign and herbal teas to support emotions. The date we chose fell on the full moon, and the synchronicity of this was not lost on us. It felt perfect.
For Emily and I, these workshops were a place to express our passions- myself with herbalism and Emily with astrology.
To offer something out in the world that is so personal feels vulnerable. It puts on display what you believe to be important. Heart and soul gets poured into crafting an experience that you hope changes people’s lives, and this takes real courage. The worst fear is that no one will think it’s valuable besides you.
In the previous workshop, it was the first moment I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be, at exactly the right time. Knowing that a room full of people felt the value of something I love was the best feeling.
